Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Louisville, KY)

Foxglove Haven Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for pipe repairs, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Track costs around capital projects against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with pipe repairs. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Louisville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
