Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Louisville, KY)

Rivermark Rowan Farms is an agricultural business based around Louisville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Track costs around grower contracts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to packing house output, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with packing house output. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Louisville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
