Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Louisville, KY)

Lumen Orchard Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Louisville, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 835 people based in Louisville. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with outage response. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Louisville. • We reply to every applicant.
