Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Louisville, KY)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak Harbor Telecom and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Technicians and office staff share information daily. What you will do • Track costs around outage reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Louisville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
