Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Little Rock, AR)

Cedar Manufacturing Group manufactures parts and assemblies at its Little Rock plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 144 people based in Little Rock. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around work orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with machine downtime. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Little Rock. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
