Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Little Rock, AR)

Bluepeak Linden Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Little Rock. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Little Rock. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fleet maintenance, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around recycling loads against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Little Rock. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
