Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Little Rock, AR)

Nova Quill Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Little Rock. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer tracking, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around loads and lanes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with customer tracking. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Little Rock. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
