Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Little Rock, AR)

Redstone Inspection Services is an inspection company in Little Rock with field technicians and lab staff. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Little Rock. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around test reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with field inspections. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Little Rock, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
