Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Las Vegas, NV)

We are growing our team at Summit Oak Environmental Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Early starts and steady work; we look after our drivers. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service complaints, and clear open items. • Track costs around collection routes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with service complaints. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Las Vegas. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
