Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Las Vegas, NV)

Cedar Forge Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Las Vegas. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 177 people based in Las Vegas. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around hardship programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
