Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Knoxville, TN)

Silverline Hollow Arts Center runs a venue and education programmes in Knoxville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Everyone pitches in on show days. What you will do • Track costs around volunteer programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to exhibitions, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
