Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Knoxville, TN)

Northwind Cross Hospitality is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for group events, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to group events, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around supplier orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with group events. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Knoxville. • We reply to every applicant.
