Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Knoxville, TN)

Highbridge Summit Auto Group is a Knoxville company supplying vehicle parts and service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Service hours are steady. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer estimates. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Knoxville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
