Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Knoxville, TN)

We are growing our team at Greenridge Pike Auto Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vehicle inspections, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around warranty claims against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with vehicle inspections. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Knoxville. • We reply to every applicant.
