Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Kansas City, MO)

Summit Corner Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Kansas City. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Technicians are respected and trained. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with customer estimates. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Kansas City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
