Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Kansas City, MO)

Stonegate Fern Facilities looks after properties across the Kansas City region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Our crews keep other people's buildings running and we treat them well. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cleaning schedules, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with cleaning schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Kansas City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
