Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jacksonville, FL)

We are growing our team at Redstone Beacon Community Partners and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around food distribution against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Jacksonville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
