Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jacksonville, FL)

Harborlight Field Staffing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for onboarding, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 12 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with onboarding. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Jacksonville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
