Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jacksonville, FL)

Northwind Hollow Energy Partners is an energy provider in Jacksonville focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around meter readings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with billing disputes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Jacksonville. • We reply to every applicant.
