Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jacksonville, FL)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Hollow Environmental Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Early starts and steady work; we look after our drivers. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around weigh tickets against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with recycling loads. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Jacksonville. • We reply to every applicant.
