Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jacksonville, FL)

Rivermark Granite Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Jacksonville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing accounts, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around treatment plant data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with billing accounts. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Jacksonville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
