Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jackson, MS)

Stonegate Ashton Hospitality is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for housekeeping schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 37 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to housekeeping schedules, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with housekeeping schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
