Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Indianapolis, IN)

Stonegate Forge Transit Planning · Indianapolis, IN · full time

Stonegate Forge Transit Planning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for survey data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to survey data, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Indianapolis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
