Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Indianapolis, IN)

Clearpath Umber Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Indianapolis. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Indianapolis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
