Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Honolulu, HI)

Harborlight Fox Early Learning operates neighbourhood childcare around Honolulu, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around licensing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with enrolment. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Honolulu. • We reply to every applicant.
