Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Honolulu, HI)

Clearpath Birch Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Honolulu region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around seasonal crews against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field records, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with field records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Honolulu, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
