Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Honolulu, HI)

Harborlight Granite Manufacturing makes precision components in Honolulu. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Track costs around work orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Honolulu. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
