Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Hartford, CT)

Redstone Basin Telecom is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for field visits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 47 people based in Hartford. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around billing accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field visits, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with field visits. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Hartford. • We reply to every applicant.
