Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Grand Rapids, MI)

We are growing our team at Summit Ivory Inspection Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 45 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with certifications. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Grand Rapids. • We reply to every applicant.
