Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fresno, CA)

Summit Clear Arts Center Group is a cultural organisation in Fresno presenting exhibitions and performances, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Evenings and weekends are part of the job. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer programmes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with volunteer programmes. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
