Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fresno, CA)

Highbridge Yarrow Legal Group is a law firm in Fresno serving businesses and individuals. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around document review against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to trust accounts, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Fresno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
