Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fresno, CA)

Silverline Juniper Civic Services Group provides shared administrative services to local governments around Fresno, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 27 people based in Fresno. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to public records, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with public records. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
