Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fresno, CA)

Fernwood Lakeside Farms Group supplies farm and food customers across the Fresno region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to packing house output, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with packing house output. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Fresno. • We reply to every applicant.
