Ironwood Juniper Environmental Services · Fresno, CA · contract

Ironwood Juniper Environmental Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for landfill records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 53 people based in Fresno. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to landfill records, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with landfill records. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Fresno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
