Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fresno, CA)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Yarrow Facilities and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Our crews keep other people's buildings running and we treat them well. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with supply orders. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
