Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fresno, CA)

Nova Cedar Farms is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for packing house output, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around seasonal crews against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to packing house output, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with packing house output. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Fresno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
