Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fresno, CA)

Rivermark Pike Insurance is an insurance company in Fresno with claims and service teams, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 942 people based in Fresno. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to policy renewals, and clear open items. • Track costs around underwriting files against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with policy renewals. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Fresno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
