Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fresno, CA)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Ivory Transit Planning and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to route schedules, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with route schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Fresno. • We reply to every applicant.
