Accountant - grant and fund accounting (El Paso, TX)

We are growing our team at Northwind Harbor Environmental Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 603 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around fleet maintenance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to collection routes, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with collection routes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in El Paso. • We reply to every applicant.
