Accountant - grant and fund accounting (El Paso, TX)

Northwind Loom Auto Group is a El Paso company supplying vehicle parts and service, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 20 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service appointments, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer estimates against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in El Paso, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
