Accountant - grant and fund accounting (El Paso, TX)

Lumen Beacon Housing Group is a nonprofit housing provider in El Paso, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 76 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to waiting lists, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around rent assistance against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with waiting lists.
