Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Detroit, MI)

Westbrook Drift Banking Services Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for card disputes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 20 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Track costs around account openings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to card disputes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Detroit. • We reply to every applicant.
