Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Des Moines, IA)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Drift Hospitality and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We work weekends and holidays and we make it fun. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to housekeeping schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around supplier orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with housekeeping schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
