Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Des Moines, IA)

Silverline Corner Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Des Moines. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 293 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around account servicing against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with vendor spend. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
