Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Des Moines, IA)

Harborlight Granite Pharma is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for clinical studies, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 13 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around cleanroom operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to clinical studies, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with clinical studies. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Des Moines. • We reply to every applicant.
