Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Des Moines, IA)

Rivermark Mill Care Services Partners is a social-care provider serving older adults and people with disabilities around Des Moines. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 920 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Track costs around client records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with visit scheduling. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Des Moines. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
