Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Denver, CO)

Ironwood Stone Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Denver. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Early starts and steady work; we look after our drivers. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around service complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Denver. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
