Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Denver, CO)

Highbridge Cross Banking Services Group provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Denver. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to branch operations, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with branch operations. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Denver. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
