Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Denver, CO)

Bright Vista Construction builds commercial and industrial projects around Denver. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Good people move up quickly. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around project schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to subcontractor invoices, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Denver. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
