Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Dallas, TX)

Nova Lantern Early Learning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for licensing records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Low staff turnover is a goal we take seriously. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to licensing records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with licensing records.
